About the Program
The Northeast Texas Teaching Artist Training Program is a pioneer initiative run by Young Audiences of Northeast Texas to develop a cadre of local artists who have specialized training in creating, developing, and delivering arts-integrated residencies that can be marketed to local school districts as a means of training both students and teachers with and through the arts. Participants in this program will receive roughly 50 hours of professional development over the course of nine months, including workshops led by master teaching artists from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington D.C. At the culmination of the program, artists will have designed and developed their own residencies, and will have the opportunity to further develop them into professional development opportunities for teachers.
